This journey eventually connected her with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and the Hallelujah Challenge, an experience that played an important role in her growth as a worshipper. During the Hallelujah Challenge, Nak encountered producer Mr. Wols and reached out to him. What followed was an unexpected opportunity to collaborate and revisit the song that had remained unfinished for years.
The project subsequently expanded, bringing together several talented individuals from different backgrounds. Matthew Harden and the Holy Cross Lutheran School choir became part of the recording, while audio engineers Darren Usher and Wallace Smith contributed their expertise to the production. Film producer Torri Brown also documented the journey, capturing the story behind the song and the process through which it came to life.
Despite the logistical and creative challenges of working across Nigeria and the United States, Nak Jently continued to witness God's faithfulness throughout the process. What initially appeared to be another delayed project ultimately became a testimony of God's ability to bring forgotten dreams back to life at the right time.

About Nak Jently’s Journey
Nak Jently’s musical journey is deeply rooted in her early experiences in church, where she discovered her love for singing and worship. Like many gospel ministers, her journey began in a children’s choir, where she was taught the foundations of singing and participating in church worship. As she grew older, she transitioned into the youth choir, a season that played an important role in shaping her understanding of worship and ministry.
Because of the impact those young voices had on her own spiritual development, Nak considers it important to intentionally invest in the younger generation. Her desire is to pour into young people the same way others poured into her when she was a child, creating opportunities for them to discover their voices, grow in faith, and understand that worship is more than simply singing.
When Nak entered college, however, her musical journey took a different direction. She stepped away from singing for an extended period as she focused on developing her movement skills through competitive dance. Although dance became an important part of her life, the demands and pressures of competition eventually became exhausting. Over time, her love for singing began drawing her back to the place where her journey had started.
Nak returned to the choir and praise team, but this time with a renewed perspective. Her desire was no longer simply to perform for an audience. She wanted to worship for an audience of One—Jesus Christ.
Her return to worship, however, was not immediately accompanied by a perfect spiritual journey. Nak openly acknowledges that her walk with God included seasons of stumbling, failure, and falling short of the devotion she desired. Yet, in the midst of those struggles, God continued to pursue her.
A particularly significant turning point came during a season of profound personal losses. It was during this difficult period that Nak experienced God's presence in a deeply personal way. Reflecting on Psalm 32:7, where David speaks of God surrounding him with songs of deliverance, she began to understand worship differently. In the middle of her pain and tears, God began giving her songs.
Nak describes the experience as God “putting tunes to my tears.” Her moments of weeping and worship before Jesus opened her heart to recognize the responses God was giving her through melodies.
As her hunger for God's presence increased, she began spending more intentional time in worship. It was within those moments of intimacy that she began receiving what she describes as God's love letters, corrections, instructions, and encouragement through melodies.
Eventually, the melodies came so frequently that Nak realized God had given her a new gift—the ability to write music. Although she did not play a traditional musical instrument, she discovered that her voice could become her instrument of expression.
Her voice became her trumpet.
Through collaboration with audio engineers and other music professionals, Nak learned how to transform the melodies she received into fully produced songs. What began as a personal journey of worship gradually developed into a ministry of songwriting and musical expression.
Today, Nak Jently's music reflects this journey of surrender, restoration, worship, and intimacy with God. Her songs are not simply products of musical creativity; they are expressions of experiences, prayers, lessons, and encounters developed through her walk with Jesus.
Her story is a reminder that God can use every season—including seasons of failure, loss, waiting, and uncertainty—to shape a person's calling. For Nak, music became a language through which tears could become worship, struggles could become testimonies, and personal encounters with God could become songs capable of encouraging others.
