Gospelboiz Thursday special present B'ola (Honour) by Energetic vocalist and worshipper Sunmisola Agbebi.
Sunmisola Elizabeth Agbebi Okeleye, widely known by her stage name Sunmisola Agbebi, is a vibrant and anointed Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader who has continued to make remarkable strides in the world of gospel music. Born on May 2, 1998, she hails from a lineage and culture deeply rooted in faith, which has significantly shaped her sound, passion, and spiritual journey.
Sunmisola first caught the public’s attention through her unique approach to worship, often reviving and reinterpreting gospel classics originally performed by other gospel ministers. Her ability to breathe new life into existing songs, while still honoring their spiritual depth, has earned her respect and admiration within the Christian music community. But long before she became a household name, her journey began at an incredibly early age. She had her first music performance at just four years old, marking the start of what would become a life-long dedication to music and ministry.
Her breakthrough in the music scene came in 2017 when she emerged as the winner of the Ikorodu Radio Music Challenge, showcasing not just her vocal prowess but her passion and authenticity in worship. This win marked a significant milestone in her music career, laying the groundwork for what would become an impressive repertoire of songs and collaborations.
In 2023, Sunmisola released the widely loved tracks "B’ola" and "My Daddy, My Daddy," the latter featuring the deeply spiritual minister and songwriter Lawrence Oyor. The song quickly became an anthem in many churches and worship gatherings, largely due to its heartfelt lyrics and powerful delivery. Her collaboration with Lawrence Oyor further solidified her place as one of the emerging voices to watch in the gospel space. Sunmisola has also shared spontaneous worship sessions with her husband, gospel minister Yinka Okeleye, creating spirit-filled moments that have touched thousands of lives.
In October 2022, she hosted her first major live recording concert titled AIIIH (As It Is In Heaven) at the Charis Event Center in Lagos, Nigeria. The concert drew in worshippers from far and wide, and it served as a spiritual and artistic expression of her devotion to God. During the event, she premiered a reworked version of “My Daddy, My Daddy” alongside Lawrence Oyor, bringing the house down with a stirring and passionate ministration.
Sunmisola’s music ministry has also gained international recognition. In November 2022, she was honored with the opportunity to minister at “The Garden of Our Heart” event held at the Dubai Expo. There, she ministered alongside Grammy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and the renowned Firdaus Orchestra—an experience that not only expanded her audience but showcased the global reach of her calling.
The same year, in December, she was also privileged to be part of an annual Christmas concert featuring Ghanaian gospel icon Joe Mettle. Continuing her upward trajectory, in April 2023, she was featured by gospel singer Folabi Nuel on the single "He's Alive," a powerful track that further emphasized her unique ability to blend heartfelt worship with contemporary sound.
Sunmisola Agbebi continues to be a vessel of worship, using her voice and songs to draw people into deeper fellowship with God. With her growing influence and unwavering dedication to her calling, she is undoubtedly one of the most promising gospel ministers of her generation.
